Burnt Store Lakes is a deed-restricted subdivision in south Charlotte County with Punta Gorda addresses (ZIP 33955), built around 11 freshwater lakes off the Burnt Store Road corridor. Lots were platted decades ago as Punta Gorda Isles sections, and building has been gradual, so finished homes sit beside many vacant lots. Charlotte County publishes a GIS map of the subdivision showing its street grid (Charlotte County, Apr 2025).
Homes and Prices
Buyers find two kinds of property here. Vacant quarter-acre lots on streets such as Wallaby Lane, Spice Lane and Acapulco Road have listed between about $24,000 and $55,000 (MLS, 2024–2026). Built homes are mostly one-story, concrete-block houses from the 2000s on; a 2002 home on San Edmundo Road with 1,737 sq ft of living space sold for $410,000 (MLS, Feb 2026). Lakefront lots cost more than interior ones.
Amenities and Lifestyle
The community has a park with a playground and picnic and grill area, plus a kayak and canoe launch toward Charlotte Harbor. Burnt Store Marina, nearby, adds a full-service marina, golf, tennis and pickleball, a fitness center and restaurants, but those are separate from the Burnt Store Lakes association.
