About Corkscrew Shores
Corkscrew Shores was developed by Cameratta Companies, with Pulte Homes as the exclusive builder. Its centerpiece is a former limerock mine turned into a lake of more than 200 acres, surrounded by homesites, preserves and trails. A staffed gatehouse on Corkscrew Road controls access.
The community sold out around 2020, so buyers today shop resales from original owners. Homes are newer than most Estero communities west of I-75, and Pulte built them all-electric with no natural gas.
Corkscrew Shores Housing Options
Corkscrew Shores is all single-family homes, in four Pulte series:
- Cottage series: the smallest homes, starting around 1,290 sq ft, ideal for seasonal owners and downsizers.
- Manor series: mid-size one-story homes, often with pools.
- Estate series: larger homes on wider lots.
- Premier series: the largest homes, up to about 4,200 sq ft, including many lakefront homesites.
Homes range from two to five bedrooms. Lakefront homes carry the biggest premiums, followed by preserve views and interior lots.
Corkscrew Shores Builders & Floor Plans
Pulte built every home in Corkscrew Shores, using plans that range from the compact Noir Coast (about 1,290 sq ft) to the Weatherford (about 3,350 sq ft) and larger Premier designs. Because the community was built by one builder over a few years, construction quality and roof ages are fairly consistent, which makes comparing resales straightforward.

- Boat ramp and fishing pier on the lake (electric motors, sail and paddle craft only)

Who Corkscrew Shores Is Best For
Corkscrew Shores fits buyers who want newer construction, a big lake and an active social calendar without CDD debt or golf dues. It appeals to seasonal residents, retirees and families alike, since it is open to all ages. Boaters who want gas-powered boats should look at WildBlue instead, since Corkscrew Shores allows only electric, wind or human-powered craft on its lake.
Living at Corkscrew Shores
Daily life at Corkscrew Shores revolves around the lake and the Captain’s Club. Mornings often start with a walk or bike ride on the lakeside trails, followed by pickleball or tennis on the Har-Tru courts. The activities director keeps a calendar of social events, fitness classes, holiday parties and clubs, which can make it easy for seasonal residents and newcomers to meet neighbors. Kayaks, paddleboards and electric boats share the lake, and the fishing pier is a favorite at sunset.
Because the community was built in a single phase by one builder, streets feel cohesive and well kept, and there are no active construction zones. The community includes both full-time and seasonal owners, and the gated entry offers peace of mind for those who are away part of the year.
Tips for Buying in Corkscrew Shores
Compare homes by series and lot type first: a lakefront Estate home and an interior Manor home can differ by hundreds of thousands of dollars even at similar square footage. Ask the seller for the wind mitigation report and roof permit date, and get homeowners and flood insurance quotes during your inspection period. Because the homes are all-electric, review recent electric bills, especially for larger homes with pools. Our Southwest Florida Hurricane Center covers flood zones and insurance savings.
