Coconut Point
Coconut Point is an outdoor shopping center on US-41 in Estero with more than 110 stores set around lakes and a boardwalk. It is where many residents run everyday errands and meet friends for dinner. Stores include Dillard’s, Nordstrom Rack, Barnes & Noble, SuperTarget and an Apple Store, along with specialty shops like Tommy Bahama and PGA Tour Superstore.
Dining at Coconut Point includes The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Real Seafood Company, Divieto Ristorante, Rodizio Grill, Ted’s Montana Grill and California Pizza Kitchen. Miromar Outlets
Miromar Outlets, at 10801 Corkscrew Road right off I-75, is an open-air outlet center with more than 130 stores and restaurants. Brands include Nike Factory Store, Coach, Michael Kors, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Tommy Hilfiger and lululemon. Publix is the grocery store most Floridians use every week, and you will find several near Estero, along with other national grocers, pharmacies, banks and home-improvement stores along US-41, Estero Parkway, Corkscrew Road and Coconut Road. Most errands are a 5 to 15 minute drive. Many residents also shop seasonal farmers markets for local produce, baked goods and crafts, including markets held at Koreshan State Park.
Where to Eat in Estero: What New Yorkers Should Know
New Yorkers are famously picky about pizza, bagels and delis, and you will hear plenty of opinions. The good news is that Southwest Florida has a large community of transplants from New York and New Jersey, and many local pizzerias, bagel shops and Italian restaurants are run by them. Ask your neighbors for their favorites; everyone has one.
Tip: restaurants get noticeably busier from January through April, when seasonal residents are in town. Reservations help in season; summer is quieter.
